Calcium and magnesium salts determine water hardness, the main cause of scale and damage to plumbing systems, boilers, kettles, faucets, and appliances. If your water hardness is higher than 15°F, it's a good idea to install an ion-exchange water softener.

In addition to solving the limescale problem, it is important to install a water softener because it reduces energy costs and detergent consumption, keeps skin hydrated and clothes clean.

All equipment in contact with drinking water is made with top-quality materials, as established by Ministerial Decree 174/2004.

B-SOFT Installation

• B-SOFT water softeners must be installed by qualified personnel, in a dry place protected from frost and sunlight.
• Install a safety filter upstream of the water softener.
• Use flexible hoses or anti-vibration joints to make the connections from the softener to the system.
• Position a free (non-pressurized) drain at a height below the brine tank overflow.
• Install an autoclave with pressures lower than 2 bar.
• Install a pressure reducer for pressures above 4 bar.
• Install a check valve after the meter.

The supply includes:

• Brine tank-cylinder, valve-timer assembly: head constructed from a plastic valve, electronic timer; plastic cylinder lined with fiberglass.
