In January 1936, a company called Yaou Shoten was founded in Kawasaki, Japan, to produce radio receivers and loudspeakers. The business quickly expanded into the more interesting household appliances sector, producing the first televisions with built-in loudspeakers for NHK.

This invention laid the foundation for the development of air conditioning equipment. In 1984, Fujitsu Limited acquired the company, and the General trademark became Fujitsu General, and the company changed its name to its current name, "Fujitsu General Limited."

Today, it boasts a registered capital of 18 billion yen and a workforce of 6,400. It is a constantly evolving global giant with factories, offices, and sales companies spread across the globe, supporting local partners and distributors. Its manufacturing operations span the fields of electronics, telecommunications systems, audio-video systems, and air conditioning, with an annual production of over three million units (sets).

Fujitsu General Limited's headquarters are located in Kawasaki, Japan. In Asia, it also has offices in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. In other continents, it has operations in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Germany.
