3-way zone valves are used in residential and small commercial heating and cooling systems to control the flow of hot or cold water.

General Features

  • Motorized water valves consist of: a 2- or 3-way valve body with a balanced shutter; a 2-position electric actuator with manual override. The actuator is removable from the valve body and does not interfere with the hydraulic circuit. Standard models are equipped with an auxiliary microswitch for controlling an associated electrical device (pump, boiler, etc.); they have a sinusoidal unidirectional stroke and limit switches for opening and closing. The special design of the shutter with a lantern guide attenuates water hammer and allows flow in both directions (2-way valves) and both mixing and diverting (3-way valves). APPLICATION: The valves are suitable for hot and cold water within the specified limits, and for installation inside the building. They are particularly suitable for controlling room temperature in autonomous zoned heating systems. 3-way valves are also used for domestic hot water priority (in both autonomous and centralized systems). Depending on the type of actuator used, they can be controlled with SPDT contact or with SPST contact.
